The Marjorie Fujara Memorial Fund
Please save the date for the 2024 Back to School Family Fun Fest in Evanston, IL. If you aren’t able to attend, please consider donating to our Marjorie Fujara Memorial Fund, which honors our local Evanston hero Marjorie Fujara, M.D. for her legacy in child abuse and violence prevention and continue to support our efforts in it.
Marjorie Fujara, MD was a beloved Cook County, IL- based child abuse pediatrician and fierce advocate for violence prevention – child abuse prevention, gun violence prevention, and community violence prevention. A former board member of Be Strong Families, loyal volunteer and supporter -- hosting webinars during the pandemic, bringing us into a federally funded initiative to prevent child death in Illinois as parent engagement experts -- until her premature death at age 57 after a battle with breast cancer in October 2021. Donations to the Marjorie Fujara Memorial Fund will support parent engagement in child abuse prevention – a cause close to her heart and ours. They will also contribute to supporting the “Evanston is Family Strong!” Back to School Family Fun Fest in her honor to be held on August 17, 2024, in Evanston, Illinois.
