Tarcisio Ornelas Gomez, born in Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico came to Chicago in 1988 with a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and many ideas and intentions as far as helping people in other continents. Once exposed to the reality of many families (both in Mexico and in the United States) especially in poor areas. The focus changed to working with for parents about ten years ago when he came into contact with Strengthening Families Illinois, through his wife Celina Orozco – also a BSF founding partner. There, he learned and participated in a movement that believed in parents and systems working together to make families stronger and children safer by building Center for the Study of Social Policy Protective Factors©while promoting and supporting parents’ leadership as an important factor for policy and decision making to promote and make every child’s potential a reality.

Always ready to jump on any area where help is needed, nowadays he is a trainer in most Be Strong Families trainings and an avid parent eager to share with other parents what he has learned that has helped him and his family be a stronger family.

Tarcisio is very excited and feels blessed to be a founding partner and part of the Be Strong Families team! Like day one, he is completely dedicated to continue assisting parents and professionals to living the protective factors: learn, share their experiences and raising awareness among them on how their energy and leadership together has a very positive impact in their lives, their children, and in the communities they live and work in!
