Michelle J. Lennon

Greater Tilton Area Family Resource Center
Executive Director, Trainer, Certified Recovery Support Worker

Michelle J. Lennon, Executive Director of three recovery community organizations/family resource centers in NH, has been a hands-on, come-along-side her team and participants type of servant leader from day one. Being one of the foundational team of a community-built first center in the basement of a church as a response to poverty and substance use affecting families in the community of Tilton, she has both personal and professional experience in building recovery community organizations. Having experienced the effects of addiction in her family of origin as well as with her immediate family, and having a long career in family support, Michelle has been a champion of strength-based services and education for individuals and families to increase access to resources and increase the capacity of the recovery support field locally, regionally, and throughout the country. A pioneer of innovative practice of integrating family and peer recovery support services, Michelle is a national trainer for multiple organizations in various areas of recovery and family support including: the national Opioid Response Network, the Connecticut Community for Addiction Recovery, Be Strong Families of Chicago, the Forever Hope Training Center of Tilton, and others.

“Recovering together is what we hope for families. Families can be assets or detriments to recovery, while always having good intention. It is a passion for me, to see individuals and families get what they need in support services that do not involve shame or blame. Education about addiction and the effects of substance use can be the change for those affected by problematic substance use. Community education is so critical to changing how we affect change.”
