Reflections on the Building a Parent Nation IEL Panel

Over 3500 people gathered together during the Institute for Educational Leadership Conference in early June for the National Community Schools and Family Engagement Conference (CSxFE). Educators and family supporters met from around the country and across the pond in Los Angeles to discuss the development and sustainability of community schools, supporting parents, and students alike. One of the breakout sessions was a featured panel on Parent Nation. Sarita Sashington represented Be Strong Families on the panel alongside Yolie Flores from Parent Nation, Rosa Guzman-Snyder from the Nation Center for Families Learning (Illinois), and Kendra Smiley from the Nation Center for Families Learning (Arizona).

During this video, Sarita shares her reflections and insights from being an online beta testing cohort for Parent Nation with the Be Strong Families National Parent Leadership Team in addition to what transpired with 100 participants at the session at IEL.
