Bring Cafés to Your Community 

People LOVE cafés. They are proven to offer profound benefits and consistently get rave reviews. And they aren’t like other groups. 

These benefits come from the unique Café structure and guidelines taught in Parent Café Training. 

By completing Parent Café Training, you become certified by Be Strong Families to host Cafés. This ensures you keep the integrity of the Café model and, therefore, get Café results. 

Without sticking to the model, you can have good conversations…but it won’t be a Be Strong Families Café! 

There are two levels of Café certifications: Café Host and Certified Training Partner. 

  1. If you complete Parent Café Training (PCT), YOU become certified to host Cafés. 

  2. As a Certified Training Partner (CTP), you are certified to host and certified to train OTHERS to host Cafés. 

 

 Included in the cost of the basic Café Training are:

  • A half day (4 hours) of technical assistance (TA) to support successfully kicking off their Café initiative. This technical assistance includes support for planning, online attendance by the TA provider at the first Café, and assistance with Café set-up, planning, implementation, observation, and debrief. Additional support in the form of enhanced technical assistance can be built into the contract upon request.

  • Membership in the Be Strong Families Café Community of Practice, which includes peer-to-peer support via Facebook Group, access to exclusive asynchronous and live trainings, updates to Café materials, and special offers and discounts on Café resources.

From a Parent Café Training, participants learn

  • The anatomy of a Be Strong Fmailies Café

  • The philosophical foundations and research behing Cafés

  • How to create an ambiance to maximize the effectiveness of the Café process

  • How to create your own Café theme, and

  • How to build on the Café experience to enhance programming as an engagement strategy

  • Strategies from other trained Café hosts through access to our active, online Café Community of Practice

Add-Ons:

The basic Café Training certifies participants to conduct one type of Café in one platform/location (online or in-person). Modules can be added to be certified in another Café type or platform/location.
