Youth MOVE Peer Center

Youth MOVE National (YMN) is a national youth-led and driven, chapter-based organization, dedicated to reducing system harm and building a diverse community for all youth to thrive. They do this by amplifying the voices of youth who have experienced harm in youth-serving systems, advocating for youth rights, and supporting youth to be equal partners in the process of positive systems change. The Peer Center work helps them do this. Youth MOVE National's Peer Center was established in July 2020, with grant funding support from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). The Peer Center helps elevate their work to the next level. Through the YMN Peer Center, support is offered to the peer workforce, consumer-run organizations, and nonprofits, including youth and family organizations, mental health service providers, and even individuals who are looking for technical assistance to build capacity or simply to improve implementation and enhance youth engagement and voice within their work.

Be Strong Families (BSF) provides general support, technical assistance (TA), and product development services to the Youth MOVE Peer Center through Youth MOVE National (YMN). This project aims to enhance family engagement, parent peer support, and organizational capacity building within the Youth MOVE Peer Center. BSF brings to this partnership extensive experience in resource development, training and technical assistance, curriculum development, peer learning facilitation, evaluation, and infusing lived experiences into technical assistance. The collaboration between YMN and BSF results in improved family engagement and enhanced support for youth and families in mental health treatment and peer support.
