Yunek Moore is the Youth Advisory Board Program Coordinator at Be Strong Families, where she leads efforts to amplify youth voice, foster leadership development, and create pathways for young people to engage in advocacy and community change. With a strong background in education, mental health, and program coordination, Yunek brings both professional expertise and a passion for empowering the next generation.
Before joining Be Strong Families, Yunek served as Teacher Pathway Coordinator at Peoria Public Schools, where she directed post-secondary programming, developed future educator pipelines, and coordinated grant initiatives. She also has extensive experience in social-emotional learning, crisis intervention, and group facilitation, having worked as a Mental Health Associate at UnityPoint Methodist Hospital and as Social Emotional Learning Director at Quest Charter Academy.
Yunek earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology and Psychology from Millikin University and holds a certificate in General Psychiatric Management for Borderline Personality Disorder from Harvard Medical School. She is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling at Walden University, further strengthening her commitment to youth and family mental health.
Passionate about equity, advocacy, and community engagement, Yunek is dedicated to building spaces where young people feel heard, valued, and supported to become leaders in their schools and communities.
