Twenty-two percent of employees worldwide said they had felt lonely “a lot” the previous day, according to Gallup’s 2026 workplace report. Be Strong Families is developing workplace Cafés to help colleagues build connection through guided conversation.
A 2024 review of 49 articles found that workplace loneliness was associated with higher burnout and lower job satisfaction and performance. The review did not establish cause and effect. The U.S. Surgeon General’s workplace framework also names connection and community—including trust, belonging and collaboration—as an essential part of workplace well-being.
BSF’s emerging workplace Café approach brings the strengths of its facilitated conversation model into organizational settings. Working Parents, Vitality, and Manager Cafés offer different entry points for colleagues to feel heard, reflect, and build relationships.
The goal goes beyond a pleasant conversation: when people feel seen and affirmed, they can bring greater confidence, mutual understanding, and purpose to the ways they work together.
